JOB TITLE: FINANCE MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: FINANCE
(up to $110k annually)
The Finance Manager will report to the Controller and will be a member of the finance leadership team providing guidance to the reporting, billing & collections and accounts payable teams. The candidate will assist the financial and operational reporting, and day-to-day management and support external audits. These responsibilities should be implemented efficiently, respecting deadlines, and provide reliable and accurate financial information.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Controller providing management and leadership for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financials including KPI, budget to actuals and board reporting
- Provide guidance to the billing, collections and accounts payable teams which includes but is not limited to training, personal development, assigning duties & tasks.
- Manage the payroll and expense function
- Responsible for the successful adoption of new tools, systems, and operational processes.
- Responsible for the filing, payment, revision, and validation of all sales tax amounts owing to all applicable tax jurisdictions.
- Preparation of internal and external financial and analytical reports.
- Maintain and develop standard accounting procedures to ensure compliance with accounting policies and improve financial operations
- Involved in preparing the yearly budget
- Other duties that may be assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and CPA preferred
- At least 5 years of work experience
- Working competency with Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises
- Experience in a start-up
